Meet Vera Clark

Vera Clark developed Ready, Set, Read: Reading Program based on her extensive experience teaching children and adults to read English. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Master's in Education with an emphasis in Special Education. She has taught in both public and private schools, as well as homeschooled her own children.

Vera started teaching in 1974, and quickly developed a strong interest in the subject of how we teach people to read.

...But something was missing.

"I always felt that this subject
could be made more simple.

So I began experimenting.
I started with my own children,
beginning when they were babies.
I taught them the names and
sounds of the letters.

What I found is that each child
learned to read easily
and eagerly when given
a positive experience and
one-on-one attention."

Since then, Vera has taught in private and public schools, has home-schooled, and has taught children who were advanced as well as children with learning disabilities. Vera developed Ready, Set, Read: Reading Program at the urging of her children, now adults, who recognized that their academic ease and success was credited to the ability to read at an early age.
